DX11 Shaders upper-intermediate

Building upon the basics of graphics rendering this workshop gives a detailed technical overview on the multifaceted aspects of textual software code for shaders which are performed directly on the graphics card.

What’s happening in the workshop?
Pre-advanced general purpose shader coding.

Who is the target audience of the workshop?
Beginners to textual shaders and intermediate developers willing to improve their skills.

What will attendees of the workshop learn?
For us back in the days, it was really hard to understand textual code and concepts. So in the first place we want to make you not to be afraid of the code, and give you tools and understanding of it to make you write and experiment with your own shaders easily.

We will more or less cover the following technical aspects:

  • Semantics
  • Interfaces
  • Intrinsic functions, parameter mapping, custom functions, buffers
  • Space and conversions
  • Multipass on Geometry Shaders
  • Textures, Formats, Arrays, Cubes
  • MRT
  • Compute shaders
  • Buffers Read Write / Append / Byte Address
  • Direct/Indirect Dispatch
  • Group Shared resources
  • Processing textures
  • RAW Buffers
