We’ll be building a whole demo project from scratch and enhance vvvv with the new functionality of VL wherever appropriate.
Who is the target audience of the workshop?
vvvv users who want to get the big picture and a better idea of how VL features can be applied in a vvvv project.
What will attendees of the workshop learn?
We’ll have lots of data types defined in VL, some just for storing data in a structured way, others that come with their own behavior. We’ll be looking into implementing features like
- storing and loading structured data from disk
- undo / redo
- navigating between modes
- managing lifetime of different types of objects
But our main focus will be: thinking a project top → down and try to find the sweet spots where VL actually can solve problems that we faced in earlier projects without the help of VL.
Current plans involve building a 2d simulation with game aspects, a level editor, a main menu, a highscore and a play mode.
Being familiar with the basics of VL.
