Katharina is an urban researcher, lecturer and self-employed editor based in Hamburg. She studied Social Work, Metropolitan Culture and Urban Studies in Berlin, Hamburg and London.
Her research focusses on the various connections of food and cities, alternative consumption and everyday culture. She currently works as visiting lecturer at HafenCity University Hamburg teaching a seminar on the correlation of food and urban public space. She is also involved in publishing an issue of the urban research magazine dérive – Zeitschrift für Stadtforschung in this subject area.
Other recent projects include a research position for the Centre for Lebanese Studies, inquiring about refugee children and their access to schooling in Germany and the on-site management for the festival “A/D/A Tomorrow’s Utopias for Today’s Citizens” in Hamburg.
